Lyla was our keeper girl from the Hooch X Gypsy "Move" litter.

She's precious, precocious, and positively adorable. She started her show career by going 4th in a huge 6-9 puppy bitch class at the Golden Retriever Club of America's Eastern Regional and then was second at the Atlanta Golden Retriever Club's WC/WCX Puppy Stakes and she has adored swimming since she was first introduced to the water. She was Winner's Bitch for a 3 point major under Judge Betsy Horn Humer and this too was from the puppy bitch 6-9 class.

Then... she and Trace got into some tinea and both of them lost
all the hair from their muzzles and front feet... fortunately this was temporary (and we worried, too, since no one could ID the particular variety of tinea they had gotten into, so treating it was a wait and see game). While she was gone, not wanting to waste precious time, she went to Kim at Turtle Creek Sporting Dogs for her JH title at a year old. She came home in April 2009 with that working title and 4 big and oh so orange rosettes to show for it.  So, naughty or not, we were glad to have something to show for the time away from conformation.

Then she needed to finish that CH title, so after a show or two with Maxie, she went to the very capable hands of Clint and Karen Livingston, and she came home with her AKC Championship in hand, to add to her OFA Excellents to ice her birthday cake!
We're working on her obedience skills now, and expect her to earn her CD and RN before summer. She's an amazing girl, adored by all, and has wonderful house manners, is easy to live with, and is charming and very much the upcoming Queen- though she easily turns the seat at the throne over to Bess. Lyla is an angel- she's smart, a great retriever, has wonderful instinct and reads people like a psychic....it's really quite impressive and I would love to be able to quantify her skills in some way, as she is pretty astounding at her ability to size people up. Lyla ROCKS!
