Fort Worth KC Winner's Bitch wth Lyla's bud, Clint
Lyla was our keeper girl from the Hooch X Gypsy "Move" litter. She's precious, precocious, and positively adorable. She started her show career by going 4th in a huge 6-9 puppy bitch class at the Golden Retriever Club of America's Eastern Regional and then was second at the Atlanta Golden Retriever Club's WC/WCX Puppy Stakes and she has adored swimming since she was first introduced to the water.
She was Winner's Bitch for a 3 point major under Judge Betsy Horn Humer and this too was from the puppy bitch 6-9 class.

Then... she and Trace got into some tinea and both of them lost all the hair from their muzzles and front feet... fortunately this was temporary (and we worried, too, since no one could ID the particular variety of tinea they had gotten into, so treating it was a wait and see game). While she was gone, not wanting to waste precious time, she went to Kim at Turtle Creek Sporting Dogs for her JH title at a year old. She came home in April 2009 with that working title and 4 big and oh so orange rosettes to show for it.  So, naughty or not, we were glad to have something to show for the time away from conformation.

July 2009- Lyla's second weekend in the show ring, and Winner's Bitch from the Bred By Exhibitor class. Photo caught Maxie way before she was ready (see photo for evidence of this).
We've decided that since Maxie is off to college, leaving us without her skill showing this sweet girl, we'll be shopping for the best and most caring handler we can find to finish her. Oh, and July also brought us the wonderful wonderful news that Miss Lyla is an OFA Excellent as well!
February 2010- We found the right handler, and Lyla is off to Clint and Karen Livingston for finishing- they start off with a bang, putting a major on her pretty quickly, then her third major, this one four points.  Even with a few weekends off, Lyla finished in the Livingston's capable hands on Sunday April 18, making her sire CH Tangleloft's The Heat is On an Outstanding Sire!  We're looking for that OD for Gypsy now.... and Lyla will be trying out the obedience rings next.
